The police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a migrant worker from northeast India at Velachery two days ago.

The suspects were identified as Jeyanta Doss, 21, Ranjith, 19, and Alok, 19, of Assam. They were nabbed at the Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central railway station while they tried to flee the city.

The three shared a room with the victim Jittu at AGS Colony. They worked in eateries around the city. They had started a restaurant in Nagaland but had disagreements over its finances.

On Friday, the three hacked Jittu to death and fled. The victim’s employer, who came to check on him, discovered the body on Satuday and informed the police. Investigations are on.
