Teen who resisted robbery bid, pushed to death

A 17-year old teenager who resisted a robbery bid by three youth was allegedly pushed to death by them in Purasawakkam in the afternoon on Sunday.

Abdul Gafoor was working in a belt shop near Gangadeeswarar temple.

On Sunday afternoon, the three youth, who had come to attend their friend’s wedding in a marriage hall nearby, visited the shop and started bargaining over the price of some commodities.

After sometime, the trio walked away with a belt without paying, and Abdul trid to stop them.

“A fight ensued and they pushed Abdul down. In the process, Abdul sustained head injuries. He was rushed to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital,” a police officer in Kilpauk said.

The trio. who are minors, were held.
