Switzerland Tourism is looking at tying up with production houses and television channels across south India through which it can promote tourism in the Alpine country. This year, Switzerland Tourism is planning to increase individual and group tourism, especially in the south Indian market.

Ritu Sharma, Deputy Director, Switzerland Tourism India, who was in Chennai, said: “Each year, we see a growing interest among Indian travellers especially from south India. There is an increasing number of younger and older travellers . There is a spurt in experiential travellers too.” She added that an agency would get in touch with channels and encourage them to take shoots in Switzerland, which would attract more people to visit their country.

According to her, the main goal for 2019 was to make Switzerland an all-year-round destination for Indians, promote winter and autumn tourism as well as introduce newer destinations like St. Moritz and Lake Geneva region to the Indian market.
