The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organised a rally on the occasion of Vijayadasami Utsav in Urapakkam and Sholavaram on the outskirts of Chennai on Sunday.

The rally also commemorated the anniversary of the RSS’s launch and the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s speech at the Parliament of World Religions in Chicago.

RSS Chennai unit president S. Chandrasekar flagged of the march on GST Road from Sankara Vidayalaya in Urapakkam.

The Swayamsevaks arrived at the same venue after covering over two kilometres of Vandalur-Urapakkam.

RSS social harmony wing organiser Guru Subramanian said that the organisation’s efforts to reach out to a cross section of people and strengthen its outreach in will continue.

The Sangh has been accused by its political opponents of being Hindutva-driven but it united people from different castes together, he said.
