The Anna Nagar police on Friday arrested the main suspect who was absconding after allegedly murdering a 36-year-old in Annai Sathya Nagar.

Police said Santhanam, who had criminal cases against him, was murdered by his adversaries led by Robert alias Chinna Robert, 21, due to previous enmity. Immediately after the incident, the police apprehended six persons, including three juveniles, and launched a manhunt to nab Robert. On Friday afternoon, Robert was arrested in Naduvangarai. While he tried to escape from the police, he fell down a bridge and broke his right hand. He was remanded in judicial custody.
