Student wins Taekwondo championship title

N. Sathyanarayana, a fourth-year mechanical engineering student of Easwari Engineering College, Ramapuram, won Gold Medal in 57-63 kg category of Taekwondo Championships held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on July 16.

The event was organised by Royal Taekwondo Club and promoted by Madras District Taekwondo Association, Tamil Nadu, in which 45 students participated.

By winning this championship title, Mr. Sathyanarayana has qualified for the 25 Tamil Nadu State-Level Taekwondo Championship being held this weekend, at Neyveli.

College management organised a felicitation function to honour the champion, wherein R. Shivakumar, Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram Campus; R. Narayanasamy, Director, Ramapuram Campus; B. Jothi Mohan, Principal; and S. Veeramani, Director, Physical Education, Easwari Engineering College, felicitated the student for making the institution proud.
