DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Sunday slammed the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA).
In a statement, Mr. Stalin said the online admission process being followed for the TNEA would hurt students in rural areas.
He urged the State government to ensure setting up of Anna University’s help desks in every district for the benefit of poor and downtrodden students from rural areas and those who studied in Tamil medium.
He said applications should also be sold and accepted in person.
‘Move causes confusion’
“This move is an attempt to cause confusion by the new Vice-Chancellor who has come from Karnataka and who is against the welfare of the students of rural areas and also the Tamil medium students,” he alleged.
“The application also asks for the e-mail ID of either the student or the parent. Students from remote villages and their parents may not have e-mail IDs,” he charged.
