Short-film competition for students

The Department of Media Sciences, Anna University, and UNICEF is jointly conducting a short-film competition and also a community radio programme competition on the topic of ‘Handwashing — Hygiene and Sanitation’.

Handwashing, one of the best hygiene practices in the world, reduces the occurrence of infectious diseases and subsequent deaths, a press release issued by the university said.

With three lakh children in India falling prey to various diseases, the need of the hour is to create awareness of the benefits of handwashing through short-films and community radio, which can be used to inform people on the impotance of hygienic practices. The entries must be submitted on or before October 29, 2015, to Dr. S. Arulchelvan, assistant professor and co-ordinator, Department of Media Sciences, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025.
