Several trains cancelled for ROB work

The Southern Railway will be effecting a line block on Sunday (June 23) to construct a road overbridge (ROB) and a subway on the Chennai Egmore-Villupuram section. The line block for constructing an ROB between Guduvanchery and Vandalur and a subway at the Ottivakkam-Chengalpattu line will result in the regulation of long-distance and short-termination of trains. The power block will be effected for 14 hours from 12.40 a.m. to 2.40 p.m.

Seven trains, including the Chennai Egmore–Puducherry Passenger, will be cancelled.

The railways has also rescheduled three trains, including the Chennai Egmore–Madurai TEJAS Express (train no.22671), scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 6 a.m. It will now be leaving Chennai Egmore at 6.45 a.m.

Similarly, 34 EMU trains will be partially cancelled in both directions between Tambaram and Chengalpattu/Tirumalpur.
