Several long distance trains impacted by Fani

The Southern Railway has cancelled several long distance trains in view of Cyclone Fani. The cancellation has been done based on the advice of East Coast Railway.

In a statement issued by Southern Railway, trains including Bhubaneswar Weekly Express (train no. 12829) and Howrah Mail (train no. 12840) starting from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. MGR Central Railway Station, the Tiruchirapalli-Howrah Bi-weekly Express (train no. 12664), the New Jalpaiguri-Chennai Central (train no. 22612) and the Guwahati-Tambaram Express leaving Guwahati on Friday have been cancelled.

Six trains starting on Saturday have been cancelled. The following trains are cancelled: Haldia-Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station Superfast Express (train no. 22614), Howrah-Chennai Central (train no. 12841), Howrah - Yeswantpur Express (train no. 12863), Howrah-Chennai Central (train no. 12839), Chennai Central–Howrah Coromandel Express (train no. 12842) and the Howrah–Ernakulam Antyodaya Express (train no.22877) are cancelled.

Also the Dibrugarh-Tambaram Weekly Express (train no. 15930) supposed to start on Sunday and the Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Weekly Express (train no. 15228) and the Tambaram-Guwahati Express (train no.15629) scheduled for Monday (May 6) are cancelled.
