The Photo Editor’s Take

Temple festivals and rituals are part of the culture and tradition of our city. This photograph captures the sprit of the festival withkolamson the street and men attired in silk panchakachamreciting hymns. The woman prostrating to the group wearing the traditional madisaarsaree completes the picture.

Despiteheavy reflected lightfrom the background the photographer has exposed the scene maintaining a good balance between bright highlight and deep shadows. Good overall sharpness incolourand contrast.

Note: We received some other excellent pictures but could not consider them as they did not conform to the theme of the contest - D. Krishnan
