The Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, has expressed happiness over the release of the Indian Air Force pilot, Wing Commander Abhinandan.

Wars cannot resolve any issue. Harmony and solidarity must prevail in both the countries, he said in a statement on Friday.

The Prince said the brave pilot must be feted for showing courage during captivity.

He also lauded Pakistan’s move to de-escalate the situation through the release of the pilot. India must reciprocate the gesture. International pressure must be put on Pakistan to ban terrorist outfits operating from its soil, he added. Citing Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement on the release, he said “it was a laudable expression of good intent if he really meant it.” Wars only bring death and destruction and several human lives and property were destroyed in wars, which would be greater in the nuclear weapon era, he said.
