The Katpadi police are waiting for orders from the district court in Vellore to file a case against DMK’s Vellore constituency candidate D.M. Kathir Anand, based on a report submitted by the Income Tax Department to the Election Commission.

Sources with the EC said that during the raids conducted on the night of March 29, ₹10.5 lakh was seized from the premises of Mr. Anand.

A couple of days later, they seized ₹11.53 crore from a warehouse at Nadumottur in Katpadi. The property belonged to DMK’s Poonjolai Srinivasan.

The police said the I-T Department has sent a report to the EC and discussions are on between senior police officials and legal experts to frame charges.
