The police have ordered an inquiry into a video doing the rounds on social media of party cadre, suspected to be from the VCK, and a policeman arguing over calling a person for an inquiry in Abhiramapuram.

According to sources, constable Rajesh from the Abhiramapuram police station was patrolling Vaniyampathi Street in the area when he spotted one Asai Thambi. When Mr. Rajesh asked Mr. Asai Thambi why he did not come in for the inquiry when summoned, the latter walked away. Rajesh followed him and was stopped by some men. Subsequently, one of the men verbally abused the constable.

“We have asked the cadre to come for an inquiry. Necessary action will be taken after that. As of now we have not filed any case,” a senior police officer said.
