Police draw up plan to tackle traffic

Police have made elaborate parking arrangements to regulate traffic on Sunday for the valedictory function of MGR centenary celebrations in YMCA Grounds in Nandanam.

Vehicles from Tiruvallur and other surrounding districts will be parked on the Island Grounds, Swami Sivananda Salai and Loop Road of Marina Beach. Those from western districts such as Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri will be parked at the Nandambakkam Trade Centre and IDPL Grounds.

YMCA Defence grounds, taluk office and Dr. MGR Medical University will also be used. The Guindy Estate and the surrounding areas will be used for parking vehicles coming from various parts of Chennai, a release said.
