There is a demand from pedestrians that bollards be installed on the pavements along a section of Taluk Office Road, which links Anna Salai and Sardar Patel Road. Some of them are said to have made it known to officials with Zone 13 of Greater Chennai Corporation.

During the evening rush hour, motorcyclists coming from the western lane of Sardar Patel Road ride on the pavements at a fast clip, taking pedestrians by surprise.

Similarly, motorcyclists bound for Little Mount in West Saidapet and Guindy ride on the pavements to avoid having to take a detour and getting stuck in the traffic on Sardar Patel Road

As a result, pedestrians are forced in the carriageway and have to watch out for speeding motorists. As Taluk Office Road is really wide, motorists tend to speed.
