A total of 1,000 nurses and an equal number of women police personnel have been trained through workshops to establish work-life balance.

Organised by the Global Adjustments Foundation (GAF), a non-profit organisation, the “life coaching workshops” have so far trained 49,000 women including students, teachers, nurses, police and Information Technology workers, a press release said.

The foundation recently completed training 1,000 women nurses at Apollo Hospitals and 1,000 women police personnel.

Following this, Prathap C. Reddy, chairman of Apollo Hospitals and Preetha Reddy, vice-chairperson, felicitated Ranjini Manian, founder of GAF, and Usha Ramakrishnan, director of GAF, for training the nurses in emotional, physical and leadership skills.

Earlier, Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan lauded the foundation’s efforts when they completed training 1,000 women police personnel. The women took part in full-day workshops in batches of 100. The aim of GAF is to provide life coaching to maximise the emotional, physical and leadership skills of women, thereby creating a balanced, confident and productive workforce.

Ms. Ramakrishnan said their motto was ‘Champion a woman, she will build a nation’. They have three programmes for schools, colleges and women working in the corporate sector, the release said.
