Tambaram, the third terminal in the city, would get one more train service to the northern part of the country, this time to Rajasthan. Humsafar Weekly Express trains are to be introduced between Bhagat Ki Kothi (in Rajasthan) and Tambaram, according to railway officials.

Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain will flag off the inaugural Bhagat Ki Kothi – Tambaram Humsafar special train from Jodhpur on Monday.

There is a good demand for trains that connect Chennai with Jaipur and Jodhpur. Currently, two trains are operated to Jodhpur in Rajasthan, one from Mannargudi (weekly express) to Egmore and another from Egmore on Saturdays.

The Train No.04815 Bhagat Ki Kothi – Tambaram inaugural Humsafar Special Train will leave Bhagat Ki Kothi at 1 p.m. on Monday and reach Tambaram at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
