New auditorium for Sanskrit college

Governor Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated an auditorium and released a book at the Madras Sanskrit College here on Wednesday.

On the occasion of the centenary year of Sri Abhinava Vidyatheertha Maha Sannidhanam, he inaugurated the auditorium ‘Sri Abhinava Vidyatheertha Kripa’ and released the book ‘Vidyatheertham.’

He spoke on the significance of learning Sanskrit and noted more than 3,000 Sanskrit verses have been composed in the country after independence.

“I hope learning Sanskrit becomes more popular,” the Governor added.

S. Narayanan, the donor for the project, president of Sri V. Krishnaswami Iyer Sanskrit Education Trust N.Gopalaswami and secretary V. Srikanth spoke on the occasion.
