Musical instruments worth ₹45 lakh stolen

The North Beach police have arrested a staff member of a musical instruments shop for allegedly stealing goods and selling them without the knowledge of the owner.

Police said Antony, 28, a resident of Mannady, runs the shop at Burma Bazaar. He suspected foul play when his employee, Shankar, was absent from work for two days.

When he verified details of his accounts and stock, Mr. Antony found ₹45 lakh worth of instruments missing.

Following his complaint, the North Beach police arrested Shankar, 28.
