It was yet another anxious day for Muruga Muthu, the father of Sridhar who went missing from Chennai Central Railway station early this month. Based on a piece of information that he received about his son, he rushed to a railway station in Thiruvallur district on Thursday, but could not find the child there.

“From May 3, my heart has been skipping a beat whenever I see a young boy. Initially someone told us that Sridhar was seen in Gummidipoondi, but when we went there, we could not find him. A few days ago someone said he was spotted elsewhere in the city. I hope my son is alright,” he fervently said.

Meanwhile, the Government Railway Police (GRP) have stumbled upon another footage recorded by another camera in the station.

It shows the woman who is suspected to have kidnapped four-year old Sridhar Murugan from Chennai Central Railway station earlier this month.

The police are now planning to post this video on social media in an attempt to trace the boy and the woman. “We are planning to upload the pictures and footage on the Facebook page of Railway police Chennai to get some clues,” said a senior railway police officer.

Sridhar, from Tuticorin, went missing at Chennai Central Station during his first visit to the city.

He was travelling along with his parents to spend the summer vacation here when he went missing.

Subsequently, the police obtained CCTV footage which shows a middle-aged woman carrying a baby walking with Sridhar from platform number 14 at the station.

“We suspect she has taken a train to Gudur. Our teams are searching in Nellore, Sulurpettai, Naidupet, and other villages in the Andhra Pradesh border,” added the officer.
