The city got to enjoy a cloudy morning, a rainy afternoon and a sunny evening — all in a day on Sunday.

Several areas in the city, including Anna Nagar, Arumbakkam, Thoraipakkam, Mylapore, Shollinganallur, Velachery and Mandaveli, experienced a downpour, and there was heavy inundation in some areas for a brief period.

Moderate rain may continue for the next few days, said officials of the Meteorological Department. “The sky is likely to be generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively,” an official said.
