Once again, Chennai Metro Rail has come up with a new travel card — a tourist card this time with additional benefit for commuters.

According to officials of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), commuters can get this card for Rs. 100 (and Rs. 50 which is refundable) and take unlimited number of rides; but it is valid only for a day.

At all stations

“This is with effect from Monday and will be available at all stations. We introduced this card for regular commuters who will extensively use the Metro Rail on daily basis.”

Sometime back, CMRL had introduced trip passes that offer 20 per cent discount for regular commuters.

There are three types of trip passes —12 trips valid for seven days, 50 trips valid for 30 days and 100 trips valid for 60 days.

There are regular travel cards that give 10 per cent discount to commuters and tokens for the ride.
