Meet to avoid occupational hazards

The international ‘Vision Zero’ conference organised by Tamil Nadu in association with DGUV, Germany, and supported by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), began in the city on Monday, with a vision to have a world without occupational accidents and work-related diseases. The two-day conference was inaugurated by Nilofer Kafeel, Minister for Labour, who spoke about the various labour welfare measures taken by the government, specifically for the welfare of construction workers.

The DGUV (German Social Accident Insurance) is an association that works with accident insurance institutions for industrial and public sectors in Germany. With an aim to achieve zero occupational accidents in factories, construction and mining sector with special focus on construction safety, the State government has initiated the conference.

K. Manoharan, Director of Industrial Safety and Health; Avneesh Singh, Director General DGFASLI, and H.C.Karl Heinz Noetel, president of International Social security association construction were present at the event.
