Marina bike thieves held

They targeted older models and sold the spare parts in Pudupet

A special team from Triplicane arrested two bike thieves who stole motorcycles from the Marina beach service road and sold the spare parts in Pudupet on Tuesday. The special team from Anna Square police station investigating the case managed to nab Mohammed Rafiq, 32.

Investigations revealed that using duplicate keys, Rafiq unlocked the bikes and rode them away. He sold them for ₹3,000 to Muhammed Navas, who broke them up and sold the spare parts in Pudupet. Navas was also nabbed.
