Manifesto panel ends tour

October 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - CHENNAI:

After touring the State for 10 days to elicit opinion from the partymen, the nine-member manifesto committee of the DMK, headed by T. R. Baalu, is ready to prepare the draft.

“On Tuesday, we completed the tour and received representations from partymen in all districts. There are issues general in nature and region specific,” a member of the manifesto committee said.

In many places, women and youth suggested total prohibition. Already the DMK had declared that it would implement prohibition if elected to power.

Party treasurer M.K. Stalin has completed two phases of his ‘Namakku Naame’ campaign and collected suggestions from people. “We will appropriately include them,” the member said.
