Man killed by gang in Mandaveli

Attacked by three men at Mandaveli

A 29-year-old car driver was hacked to death by a gang in Mandaveli on Friday. The Pattinapakkam police is interrogating a few suspects. The police said the deceased, Siva alias Sivakumar, was living with his parents in Teynampet. He had criminal cases in Abiramapuram and Kodambakkam.

He was attacked by a three-member gang near the MTC depot on South Canal Bank Road. The gang escaped on a motorcycle after murdering Sivakumar. The police sent the body to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.

The Mylapore Deputy Commissioner of Police N.M. Mylvahanan, constituted a special investigation team. The victim had enmity with another offender also named Sivakumar, the police said. Further investigation is on.
