The Shastri Nagar police arrested a 43-year-old man who allegedly injured a dog in the eye at Odaikuppam, a fishing hamlet. Alex, was arrested following a complaint from Shravan Krishnan, honorary animal welfare officer of the Animal Welfare Board of India. People from the neighbouring village had come to his hospital two days ago with the injured dog. They said Alex habitually hurt dogs in the area.
