A 49-year-old man died after falling into a well on Friday, in West Tambaram.
Murali of Thiruvalluvarpuram was consuming liquor, sitting on the parapet of a well, the police said. Under the influence of alcohol, he accidentally fell into the well and the neighbours came to his rescue.
He was lifted from the well by the Fire and Rescue Services personnel and was rushed to the Government Hospital, Chromepet. He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. The Tambaram police have registered a case.
