Lucas TVS, a leading auto electrical manufacturer and a member of the TVS group, in a notice to its employees, has said that it has declared August 16 and 17 as non-working days. The company indicated that this was because of a “business slowdown”. The notice also pointed out that the company would analyse the situation and then decide on whether to extend the number of non-working days. Wiper, WABCO-ABS and CDC departments will function as usual.
On Thursday, the notice, dated August 13, went viral on social media platforms.
On Thursday evening, DMK president M.K. Stalin tweeted the notice and said credible data from every sector, including automobiles, pointed to the fact that the economy was in deep distress. He added: “The Union Government should stop living in denial and wake up to reality. They must address this crisis with urgency and revive the economy.”
