Lit for Life: panel discussion modified

In the wake of writer Perumal Murugan’s unconditional apology and withdrawal of all his published works, The Hindu Lit for Life 2015 panel ‘To Burn & To Ban: Literature at Stake’, scheduled for Friday, has been modified to reflect the larger issues of freedom of speech and expression.

The session will now be called ‘Free Speech in Peril: The Issues at Stake’. The panelists are N. Ram, chairman, Kasturi & Sons Ltd., Justice K. Chandru, retired Judge, Madras High Court, and Sashi Kumar, chairman, Asian College of Journalism.

The session will be moderated by historian A.R. Venkata- chalapathy.

Venue:The Hindu Pavilion, Lady Andal School, Harrington Road, Chetpet.

Time:  11.55 a.m. to 12.55 p.m.
