Every year, Udhavun Karangal celebrates Anandha Deepavali. It is a celebration that brings together deprived and disadvantaged children from various homes in Chennai.

According to a press release from the organisation, around 1000 children from 15 organisations will participate in this year’s celebrations on October 24, which will mark the 18th consecutive year of the event.

For the children, the celebration is marked by good food and games. They get to wear custom-tailored clothes, the release added. Some of these children are visually impaired and differently abled.

Corporate role

Anandha Deepavali also gives the corporate sector an opportunity to serve the underprivileged, the press release said.

The event will be conducted at Krishnaswamy Kalyana Mandapam, South Boag Road, T. Nagar.

Over the years, the programme has witnessed the participation of well-known personalities.
