Lawyers attack 17 accused in child rape case on Chennai court premises

Lawyers at the Additional City Civil Court in Chennai attacked the 17 accused in a child rape case as they were being brought out of the court hall. Although a heavy posse of police personnel were on the court premises, a group of lawyers beat the accused on the corridor.

Police managed to retrieve a few accused from hands of agitating lawyers and pushed them inside the Family Court and CBI court.

Tension prevails now as lawyers refused to allow the accused free passage. Additional Commissioner of Police H.M.Jayaram and Joint Commissioner of Police T.S. Anbu are at the scene with fresh reinforcements
