Chennai Metro Rail Limited has announced that it will reduce fares of share-autos and share-taxis to encourage passengers to avail the feeder services.
The reducting in fares of feeder services was announced in a press release.
In an effort to improve last-mile connectivity, CMRL launched feeder services through share-autos and share-taxis at select Metro stations.
Cheaper rides
The last-mile fare for share-auto services has been reduced from ₹10 to ₹5 per ticket and for share-taxi services from ₹15 to ₹10. The revision will be implemented on a trial basis, with effect from Monday upto January 31.
So far, around 47,628 passengers have utilised the feeder services in the months of August and September. In October, a total of 28,032 passengers utilised the share-auto and share-taxi facilities, of which 6,442 utilised the latter and 21,590 utilised the former.
In the same month, around 7,561 availed the services in the Koyambedu and Alandur Metro stations.
