Kamal Haasan will face the cameras once again for director Shankar’s big budget film, Indian 2 , from Friday in Chennai. The actor is expected to juggle his film commitments with his new role as a politician.

Eagerly awaited

With the film likely to be the actor's swansong, it is sure to be one of the most awaited works of his career as fans will be eager to see Indian Thaatha , an idealistic freedom fighter, take on the corrupt. The fans on social media have already expressed curiosity about the kind of social issues the film will highlight.

The first part, released in 1996, was a blockbuster, fetching Kamal Haasan yet another National Film Award for the Best Actor. Sources in Lyca Productions say that the three-day schedule will begin at the Memorial Hall on Friday and shooting is likely to continue for 7 days at the sets erected in Gokulam Studios.

Indian 2 will reportedly delve into the origin of Senapathy, which was one of the characters played by Kamal Haasan in the first part. The film is expected to be shot in several places across India and abroad. Anirudh Ravichander will score the music and cinematographer Ravi Varman will wield the camera.
