The city police arrested the manager of a jewellery shop in Chromepet for defrauding customers to the tune of ₹17.57 lakh. Based on a complaint filed by Nivedha, 35, of Kadapperi, the police arrested Muthukumar, 37, manager of Nathella Jewellers, which has a branch on GST Road.

The complainant said she had deposited monthly installments and when she sought to purchase jewellery, the shop and floor in-charge staff did not give her clear responses.
