Jeers visit city

The 45th Jeer of Sri Ahobila Mutt, Srivan Sadakopa Sri Narayana Yateendra Mahadesikan Swamigal, and the 46th Jeer, Srivan Sadakopa Sri Ranganatha Yateendra Mahadesikan Swamigal, arrived here on Monday evening for a five-day visit.

They will be camping at Sri Ahobila Mutt, Car Street in Triplicane.

The two Jeers will be camping here till February 1, 2013.

They are visiting the Mutt here after nearly 18 months, according to K. Venugopalan, the Mutt representative here.

According to Mr. Venugopalan, elaborate arrangements have been made by the Mutt to facilitate the disciples to participate in the daily rituals, and get the blessings of the Jeers.

On the evening of every day (from January 28 to January 31) during their stay here, there will be ‘Panaga aradhanam’ . On each morning, there will be ‘Abhigamana aradhanam’ (morning puja). The Jeers will bless the disciples and give ‘satari’ .

The afternoon puja will be followed by ‘thadeearadhanam’ . By 7.30 p.m. on each day of their camp here, there will be evening puja. This will be followed by distribution of holy water and Prasad.

On the last day of their camp on February 1, there will be ‘Abhigamana aradhana’ .The Jeers will leave Triplicane by 3 p.m. on February 1.
