After listening to actor Jayaprada and her friends from the Tamil and Telugu film industry go on a nostalgic trip to the past at the audio launch of Uyire Uyire , featuring her nephew Siddharth and Hansika Motwani here in Satyam Cinemas on Saturday, Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor ended the event on a high by making all of them dance on stage to one of the songs.

“You have come here to be entertained, right?” he asked the crowd, before making former Samajwadi party politician and co-producer of film, Amar Singh, Telugu actor Mohan Babu, actor Radhika Sarathkumar and Jayaprada join him in the act.

It was a homecoming of sorts for actor and former MP, Jayaprada, who fondly remembered her mentor, K. Balachander.

Speaking at the function, actor Jayaprada said that she wanted her nephew to make his debut in Tamil.

“It’s a very big day for me. I would have liked Balachander to attend the launch today because he was like an institution to me. I wanted Siddhu to make his debut in Tamil because this industry has given so much to me,” she said.

The event also generated enough excitement with former Samajwadi party strongman, Amar Singh, saying how he thought Anil Kapoor was a better actor-superstar than Amitabh Bachchan. “Amitabh Bachchan is often a star on screen. But you lived that character in Dil Dhadakne Do,” he said, after wishing Siddhu well.

Referring to Jayaprada’s new avatar as a producer, Mr. Singh also spoke about how it was a difficult task for a superstar, who is always pampered on the sets, to become a producer.

Industrialist, politician and producer, Subbarami Reddy, created a mild flutter when he spoke in praise of Jayaprada’s complexion. While actors Radhika Sarathkumar and Sripriya Raajkumar objected to that, actor Mohan Babu jokingly said that ‘no one colour must be given preference over another.’
