In search of master chef

The second edition of ‘The Hindu Our State Our Taste - A journey to identify the master chef of Tamil Nadu’ will be held in Chennai and Vellore on August 3 and 4 respectively.

The Season 2 is a celebration of the versatility of Tamil cuisine and the traditions behind it. The preliminary level will be held across 15 locations in the State and the grand finale will be held in Chennai. On August 3, the regional round in Chennai will be held at Hotel Ambassador Pallava, Egmore, and it will be held at Hundreds party hall, Gandhi Nagar, Vellore, on August 4. The event will be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Regional winners will get to represent their city in the grand finale. A panel of judges headed by chef Damu will select three best cooks from each city for the finale. Nearly 6,500 people are likely to take part. Entry is free, and contestants are expected to cook their favourite dish and bring it to the venue. Dishes cooked using RKG Ghee, Savorit, Naga food products and Fortune Foods will fetch extra points. Top three winners will get cash awards between ₹1 lakh and ₹40,000.
