Music composer Ilaiyaraaja said in a statement that the case over the patent and copyright of his songs was still ongoing, and that the Madras High Court had quashed only criminal prosecution against Echo Recording Company.

“According to the case filed in 2014, the ban against the use of my songs still holds valid and we are expecting the final judgement in the case soon. The case against Echo Recording company alone is what has been quashed,” he clarified.
