House, shop burgled in Chennai city

Burglars broke into an independent home in Pattabiram and took away gold jewels weighing 10 sovereigns and Rs. 20,000 cash.

Police said the burglary took place at the residence of Kulasekaran, a retired State government employee in Pattibiram. He had gone to Bengaluru along with hiis family on Sunday and on Tuesday morning. They noticed the front door lock broken and the house ransacked.

Shop burgled

Burglars broke into a gift shop in Flower Bazaar on Monday night and took away more than Rs. 10.45 lakh in cash.

Flower Bazaar police said the incident took place at the shop owned by Sunil (35) when he closed it after business on Monday evening
