Burglars broke into a house in Choolaimedu and decamped with electronic gadgets, including laptops, gold jewellery and ₹5,000 in cash.

According to a complaint by Vignesh Radhakrishnan, while the family was asleep in their house at Krishnapuram in Choolaimedu, the burglars gained entry through the first floor and stole the valuables on Tuesday.

In the middle of the night, Mr. Radhakrishnan noticed the door open and things scattered. After seeing a few persons moving in two-wheelers, he raised an alarm and chased them. However, they sped away. The family found four foreign watches, gold jewellery, ₹5,000 cash and silk sarees missing, apart from the gadgets.

Following an alert, police personnel from the Choolaimedu station rushed to the spot. ACP S. Muthuvelpandian and inspector Elangovan investigated.

The police said that they were working on certain clues, after analysing the CCTV footage.
