Govt. should handover Gutkha case documents to ED: Ramadoss

July 19, 2018 12:20 am | Updated 12:20 am IST - Chennai

PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Wednesday asked why the State Government was unwilling to handover documents and evidence in the Gutkha scam to the Enforcement Directorate.

In a statement, Dr. Ramadoss said that the State Government was trying to influence the Gutkha scam case even after Central Bureau of Investigation took it over. “It is condemnable that State government is refusing to handover documents and evidence in the Gutkha case to the ED. It is common practice for the Enforcement Directorate to investigate where all the illegally obtained bribe money has been invested,” he said.

He said that the delay in providing the documents can only postpone the eventuality of the ED freezing the properties and assets of Health Minister Vijayabaskar.
