Gold jewellery stolen on bus

A passenger was robbed of 22 sovereigns of gold jewellery on a bus on Sunday morning.

According to the police, Saravanan, 28, who runs a gilt jewellery shop in Vyasarpadi, and his wife Dilli Rani, boarded a bus to Arni from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus. They had placed their suitcase on the rack above their seat. When the bus reached Nerkundram, Saravanan checked the suitcase and noticed that jewellery kept inside was missing. He lodged a complaint with the Koyambedu police station.
