Girl files cheating plaint

A 20-year-old girl, daughter of an IAS officer, has filed a cheating complaint against her classmate who allegedly promised to marry her.

The girl, studying in a private institution in Anna Nagar, was reportedly in love with Irfan since school days. She alleged in her complaint that he refused to keep his promise.

The All Women Police, Vadapalani, registered a case under sections 417(Cheating), 406(Criminal Breach of Trust) and 506(1)(Criminal Intimidation) of IPC against Irfan, sources said.
