‘Gender norms should be discarded’

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai recently organised the 11th Successful Women in Management (SWIM) Conference, according to a press release.

Vishala Ramaswami, MD - Loyal Textiles, CEO - P. Orr & Sons, who delivered the keynote address, said economists and corporate world should recognise and value the labour that women put in outside of work. She also said that gender norms should be discarded.

S. Madhumathi, Commissioner, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, spoke during the occasion.
