Gemmologist robbed

The city police launched a manhunt to nab the suspects who robbed a gemmologist of precious stones and gems worth ₹21 lakh.

Srinivas Reddy, 36, a gemmologist from Visakhapatnam, was staying with his friend Mukesh in a lodge in Mannady for selling precious stones to Yogesh, a dealer who contacted them on social media. In the guise of buying the stones, the dealer got to know Reddy’s details of stay.

On April 20, a four-member gang entered Reddy’s rooms and robbed him and his friend of the precious stones from Reddy and his friend at knife point. The North Beach Police are investigating.
