Four persons, including a woman, were killed on the Inner Ring Road between Padi and Retteri on Tuesday evening after a van hit the vehicles they were riding.
According to police, the van driver was driving recklessly.
The accidents happened between Padi flyover and DRJ Hospital. “The van driver was headed towards Retteri and knocked the motorists who were waiting at the signal near Senthil Nagar police booth,” said a senior police officer.
The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Police are searching for the driver.
