Less than a week after the release of Rajinikanth’s 2.0 , the first song from his next film Petta was released online on Monday.
The lyric video of the song Marana Mass , sung by S.P. Balasubrahmanyam and music composer Anirudh Ravichander, has lyrics written by Vivek and features stills from the film.
The song hit one million views on YouTube within an hour of its release and Petta and Marana Mass were trending topics on Twitter. The film, which is much anticipated for its star cast, has been directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Petta also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, Trisha, Simran and Nawazuddin Siddiqui among other actors. While the film is scheduled to release on Pongal, all the songs are expected to be released on December 9 itself, the makers of the film, Sun Pictures, had announced.
A second song from the album is scheduled to be released on December 7.
