“To find answers for the energy crisis, young scientists should innovate new cost-effective mechanisms to tap more solar energy,” said former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He advocated a national policy for promoting solar energy to deal with the current energy crisis.
Dr. Kalam was addressing a gathering of young innovators, academicians and engineering students during a State-level science exhibition for school students, ‘Agni's Ignite 2015’, organised by Agni College of Technology, Thalambur, on Friday.
In his interaction with students, Dr. Kalam advised them to be unique in every aspect, to set their aims high, continuously acquire knowledge and put in hard work and perseverance in their endeavours.
Agni’s Ignite aims at giving school students a new perspective towards research and science. Director of Agni’s Centre for Research and Development J. Agnishwar said 60 students selected out of 30,293 participants from 7,000 schools would take part in the finals.
Honorary Advisor of the college, Syed Munir Hoda and principal S.R.R. Senthilkumar also spoke on the occasion.
